Harland and Wolff is a project based engineering company serving the marine, offshore and structural fabrication markets. Each project is managed separately, but using the same business management processes and within the common guidelines of the company Quality Management System (QMS).
Strong Project Management skills are the key to successfull project completion. The Harland and Wolff Project Managers play a senior role in the organisation and are responsible for budget, resource and time allocation. Our clients' objectives are important to us and we share common objectives and target completions. We actively strive to build a common platform of project management with our clients' teams to ensure the efficient application of best practices.
We operate a Completions Management System (CMS) which has the objective of ensuring that the unit is completed and all necessary paperwork and tests have been carried out according to the agreed schedule.
The CMS Philosophy includes some of the following headings:
- DEFINITIONS system, subsystem breakdown, etc
- COMPLETION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM explanation of area to system transition, system groupings, tracking, inspection & punchlist system
- PLANNING AND SCHEDULING How to develop and integrate a commissioning plan
- CERTIFICATION, ACCEPTANCE AND HANDOVER Understanding of the handover dossier and the process flow to achieve it.
