Harland and Wolff, working for E.ON (foundations) and Vestas (topsides), were responsible for the storage, assembly and offloading onto delivery jack-ups. Materials included monopiles, transition pieces, towers, hubs, nacelles, blades, grout, infield and export cables and miscellaneous outfit.
By utilising the twin gantry cranes, dockside and mobile cranes, transporters and 90 acres of hard standing ground, H&W were able to accommodate all 60 sets on site with ease.
Throughout the duration H&W supported the project with additional services such as provision of heavy engineering trades, dry-docking, repair and modifications to the delivery and installation vessels and steel fabrication / construction.
In line with the exacting performance standards demanded of E.ON / Vestas, H&W implemented a step change in its Health and Safety methods and procedures, driving to attain ‘best-in-class’ status. This resulted in applying a highly visible and rigorous system which is now our standard.
