Harland & Wolff is pleased to announce the completion of the first Cory barge at its Arnish site. This barge, named Erne after the Irish river, marks a significant milestone in the ongoing contract with Cory, the largest waste collection and recycling service on the Thames.

The contract with Cory involves the delivery of 33 barges, with eight already completed at Belfast and six at Methil. These barges play a crucial role in Cory’s operations, transporting recyclable and non-recyclable waste, and removing approximately 100,000 truck journeys from London’s roads each year. This not only alleviates traffic congestion but also contributes to lower emissions and a cleaner environment.
